In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And, we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.
We’re looking for a Distribution Admin Officer to support the distribution team by performing administrative tasks. The ideal candidate must be highly organized, have a keen eye for detail, and be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Reporting to the Distribution Admin Manager, you will manage the team's requests, assist in the distributors' payroll calculations, and monitor the distributors' objectives, performance indices, and gaming rates. You will also act as the interface between Wave and interim firms for distributor-related inquiries.
In this role, you'll:
- Support the user growth office and distribution teams from our head office in Ouagadougou.
- Support user growth leads to ensure distributors are recruited and managed as per internal policy and procedures.
- Support the user growth admin team in managing the dispatching and tracking usage of distribution-related supplies.
- Support the user growth admin team in managing administrative tasks with Interim firms, Wave, and distributors for user growth.
- Activate and deactivate distributors.
- Verify distributors’ attendance.
- Share the performance of distributors regularly with their supervisors.
- Assist in calculating distributors’ due bonuses and preparing payment files on time.
- Ensure distributors have up-to-date contracts and that they are paid on time.
- Follow up on our interim firm partners’ invoices and bulk payment recharges.
- Troubleshoot any technical issues distributors may face (e.g., Slack, trackers, distributors app, Google form….).
- Help with recruitment and training arrangements for distributors when needed.
- Organize alignment sessions with the different teams working closely with the distribution.
- Help the distribution teams follow up actions in order of priority by consolidating key information.
- Assist distributors with access to all relevant platforms (slack, WhatsApp groups, etc).
- Liaise with field teams to dispatch all required stationery, merchandising material, and any other required supplies, tracking dispatched and available supplies and their use.
- Track client issues during distribution and make outbound calls to new sign-ups to collect data.
- Provide basic training on distribution admin-related issues to the field teams.
Key details
- Location: You'll work from our office in Ouagadougou and may travel to field locations.
- Work authorization in Burkina Faso is required.
- This is a fixed-term position, 6 months contract.

Requirements
- Proficient in English and French.
- Completed university degree.
- Experience in an administration position or an HR/payroll position.
- Be a good note-taker.
- Strong computer skills, especially with spreadsheets, and experience using Google suite.
- Excellent organizational skills and communication skills.
