In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.
We are seeking a committed and results-oriented Agent Operations Regional Lead. In this role, you will manage a regional field team focused on agent operations, overseeing the acquisition and operational management of the agent network within your assigned region(s). This is a critical position as we continue to rapidly expand our business in Niger.
In this role, you'll:
- Agent Contracting: Ensure the Agent Openers recruit agents in compliance with the legal and policy requirements as per the defined procedure. Ensure agents in your region have valid contracts and are trained on the contents of the contract before signing.
- Agent Activation & Training: Ensure all agents are trained & certificated on all Wave products and procedures, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and AML/CTF.
- Agent Ongoing Liquidity Management: Coordinate the Monitoring of cash / e-value availability at the agent's liaison with liquidity, agent quality territory teams, Master Agent and Premium Supervisor
- Risk Management and Routine Visitation: Manage the teams in monitoring agents vs. targets by reporting on emerging issues and assessing the region's performance.
- Agent Management: Coordinate the Identification of Agents for Closure (as per internal procedure), recover Wave items & equipment and remove branding material.
- Build and manage agent network: Build a network of over a thousand Wave agents, including regular agents, master agents, premium agents, premium master agents, and corporate agents.
- Build and manage team: Build and manage Wave's agent operations team within your assigned region. You wil be responsible for hiring and training, including agent openers and Territory Leads in your team.
- Set your team up for success by working collaboratively to identify and execute the most leveraged projects, create a learning environment, and track and evaluate performance. Provide guidance and feedback to help team members strengthen the knowledge and skills needed to meet their OKRs
- Lead the agent analysis alongside user growth performance; identify what is working and what is not; take actions to ensure a high standard of service and sustainable growth.
- Be the primary contact person for all agency network acquiring and Wave products in your region. Execute operational excellence, cost management, and compliance to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Champion excellent customer service and implementation of quality service delivery standards
Key details
- Location: You'll work from the allocated region and travel daily to field locations.
- Work authorization in Niger.
- This is a fixed-term position.

Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant work experience, specifically managing an agent network in Niger.
- A bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline
- 3+ years of experience managing field-based teams
- Fluent in French and English
- Agent network management experience will be an added advantage
