In 2017, over half the population in Sub-Saharan Africa had no bank account. That's for good reason—the fees are too high, the closest branch can be miles away, and nobody takes cards. Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.
We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it
Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And we’re still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people’s everyday lives.
We’re seeking two Field Auditors (one based in Ouagadougou and one based in Bobo Dioulasso) to join our team in Burkina Faso. You'll be responsible for continuously assessing our agent network and identifying weaknesses. You'll provide Wave with relevant data that will likely help improve our service quality and agent network reliability.
In this role, you’ll;
- Travel and visit regularly assigned wave agents.
- Remain discreet while posing as a regular customer and observe.
- Interact with wave agents in person to gauge customer service.
- Inspect the store's environment discreetly to detect possible concerns and areas for improvement.
- Perform transactions as a regular customer and ask specific questions to assess service quality and compliance.
- Making observations about the agents’ behavior and answers.
- Fill out a questionnaire and write a brief report detailing the experience after each wave agent visit.
- Follow up field activation and promotion activities and gather data as per provided template.
- Investigate field team’s adherence to process and policies through random calls and field visits.
- Disclose competing interests, including dislike of particular wave points.
- Perform other internal audit admin tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

- Location: Ouagadougou and Bobo Dioulasso, with frequent travels in the field and upcountry.
- Work authorization in Burkina Faso required.
- This is a fixed-term position, 6 months contract.

Requirements
- At least 2 years experience in assessing service quality or conducting surveys/data collection.
- A Bachelor's degree in Audit, Risk management, or a related discipline.
- Fluency in Mooré and/or Dioula.
- Basic knowledge of data analysis.
